I feel that my role as a midwife is to help families discover their own inner resources and strength. I see my role as guide, not as decision maker. I believe that childbirth preparation is not just about preparing oneself for labour, but also about preparing oneself for the changes of identity and roles that the pregnancy and birth bring.
